Mabushi Bus Terminal Now Operational: Abuja’s N51 Billion Transport Hub Set to Replace Utako and Banex Motor Parks
The newly completed and commissioned Mabushi Bus Terminal in Abuja is now operational, marking a major shift in how commuters travel within and out of the Federal Capital Territory. Built by the FCT Administration at a cost of N51 billion, the terminal is designed to replace the informal motor parks previously located in Utako and Banex.
While the terminal is active and already serving passengers, it is not yet fully operational, as finishing works are still ongoing in parts of the facility.

The Mabushi Bus Terminal already hosts several private transport companies, including GUO, CHISCO, and GIGM, with more operators expected to join in the coming period. From this hub, buses travel to major destinations across Nigeria, including Lagos, Jos, Kaduna, Port Harcourt, Akwa Ibom, and Enugu.
The terminal is fitted with a sound public address system, allowing announcements and boarding calls to be heard clearly throughout the premises, an experience commuters have likened to being inside an airport.
Cleanliness and Accessibility
Visitors have described the terminal as clean and well organized. Restrooms at the facility are also reported to be clean and equipped with running water, at a cost of N100 per use.
Accessibility has also been highlighted as a strong point of the new terminal. The facility is wheelchair accessible and fitted with elevators, making movement easier for passengers with mobility needs.
